How An Ex-Con Turned His Life Around And Built an $80k per Month Ecommerce Business

The Arctic Thrifter

This is a guest post by Robert Nava, owner of National Parks Depot.

Being the founder of a successful ecommerce website isn’t something I would have predicted for myself. One year ago, the idea wasn’t even in my peripherals. It wasn’t something that took me a lot of planning and preparation coupled with years of experience to carry out.

Creating National Parks Depot and getting it to a recognized level of success basically took one month. During that month, I came up with a product to sell, created a store, and promoted the product to about one million targeted prospects. Sales were so great that I had to pull in an investor to help get inventory.

Building National Parks Depot using Shopify is one of the easiest things I’ve ever done. I don’t have tons of experience in sales or marketing, so it’s not as if I was…

Kendrick Lamar – King Kunta

Had Kendrick‘s Pimp A Butterly album on repeat since it came out. So good to see quality Hip-hop back in everyone’s face again. This is one of my favourite tracks on the album too, the P Funk influenced production is a winner. Guessing the video isn’t in widescreen because it was debuted on a billboard in Times Square last night and made to fit that.

New York 2015: Fashion Week Images

In February we travelled for an estimated 19 hours from Cornwall to New York, Via London for New York Fashion Week. I took a lot of photographs of trainers or as the americans call them ‘sneakers’ I have no idea why but there were some cool ones! Adidas were a huge trend and my favourite shot was one of a group of three people rocking their adidas superstars. I also took a few snaps inside pier 59 studios where we had a tour, Rihanna had shot here music video there only a few weeks before! Here are some of the images I took from my time at the first 3 days of fashion week:

Briefcases For The Modern Man

Est. 1993

The briefcase has been duly noted as the bag for the business man on the go. Its been known to be as secretive as a woman’s handbag (one must never go inside a mans briefcase), yet many men are still opposed to wearing them as they are deemed to impractical, or simply many of them look boring and uninviting.

I am going to show you that you can have a beautiful briefcase thats oozes style and elegance at the same time as keeping the masculine edge.

West And Dash Save Karmaloop

Thank you guys!

Tailor Your Sportswear

Kanye West and Damon Dash (formerly Jay Z’s manager and business partner) have come together to save streetwear e-commerce site Karmaloop after they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday. In a very modern approach to sharing their news they took to Instagram to announce the deal over a series of three video posts in which they confirmed in a caption, “Yeah the Karmaloop thing is real.” Karmaloop was founded in 2000 as a streetwear e-commerce site and has helped launch streetwear brands with plenty of success. Unfortunately modern markets have left them struggling to keep up so this well-timed news is just what the company needed to turn things around and face a new global market with a contemporary strategy.
